The Salish Weave Collection is pleased to have found a partner in the Simon Fraser University to which two large scale sculptural artworks by Susan Point have been loaned since 2010.

Written into the Earth is an artist proof of cast aluminum and red cedar panels; the original cast bronze medallion sculptures were commissioned by and installed at First and Goal Inc. in Seattle, WA.

Blue Herons consist of three panels originally commissioned by the City of Richmond, British Columbia for the Olympic Skating Oval. Each carved panel was cast in concrete five times in the exterior buttresses of the building.  Afterwards, the original carvings were refinished and painted and became the prized acquisition of the Salish Weave Collection.

In 2016, Simon Fraser University launched an application available for Apple iOS mobile devices, the ímesh: Indigenous Art Walk. This application, a self-guided walking tour that displays Indigenous Art at SFU, including Written in the Earth and Blue Herons, describes each work and provides contextual information.
