Northern Lights - Aurora Borealis
The bright dancing lights of the aurora are actually collisions between electrically charged particles from the sun that enter the earth's atmosphere. Displays of pale green and pink are most common but shades of red, yellow, green, blue, and violet have been reported.
Not a rare occurrence in British Columbia, the Northern lights have been seen in the Cariboo region, Fort St-John, Terrace and the Peace River Region. Within the latter, Dawson Creek is home to the Northern Lights College.
