Artist/Curatorial Statement
Four Serpents was inspired by a design found on a pamphlet in the Cowichan Tribes band office. This depiction of four serpents in a circle goes beyond the spirit of the spindle whorl because the circle in the middle is so large. The visual depiction of serpents expresses respect for animals and nature.
