Artist/Curatorial Statement
In the spirit of the spindle whorl this circular design depicts eight people and eight ravens. The overall intention was to create visual punning to symbolize inner connectedness. There are four obvious faces where you can see the mouth, nose, eyes and eyebrows. There are other faces that are less obvious where you can see two eyes and the suggestion of a mouth. The depiction of ravens is abstract and visually vague.
