Artist/Curatorial Statement

Heron is magical and highly respected for its fishing abilities.

I was fascinated to discover a dark side of Heron once I started studying them. There is a popular misconception that herons are family oriented but they are not. Sometimes they kill their own babies; they can’t take care of the baby herons so they drop them out of the nest.
