Artist/Curatorial Statement
Into the Light has many meanings for me. I recently finished working on two large-scale art pieces – The First Peoples for the Seattle Art Museum, and People Amongst the People for the City of Vancouver’s Stanley Park which reinstated the Salish footprint upon our traditional lands. Into the Light is the name of the serigraph as well as the title of my exhibition at the Steinbrueck Native Gallery in Seattle, WA. This exhibition is a celebration of the freedom I find within Salish art, the ability to play and experiment, to discover something new each day.
